New Beginnings

The loose, unfinished-looking edges in this piece is meant to convey the beginnings of a complete whole. The color yellow can mean positivity, clarity and optimism and orchids are a universal flower - they grow everywhere. I was actually thinking of our collective new peri-pandemic reality when creating 'New Beginnings'.

This pastel is currently on display at the 'Inspiration' Show at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts located at 403 West Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks, from September 23, 2022 through January 16, 2023.
